The Challenge

As Collin County nears 1.3 million residents, the pressure on our transportation network has never been greater. With our population projected to surpass 2.4 million by 2060, mobility is no longer just about commuting—it is about the efficient movement of goods, services and talent that powers the Texas economy. While historic investments have improved key infrastructure such as U.S. 75, rapid growth in our northern cities continues to require proactive, long-range solutions to prevent congestion from impacting our quality of life.

The Landscape

Collin County is meeting these challenges through aggressive infrastructure expansion and new transit options:

  • The Collin County Outer Loop: In November 2025, we celebrated the opening of Segment 3C, connecting the Dallas North Tollway to U.S. 75. This 55-mile multi-modal facility is a cornerstone of our future, designed to relieve regional congestion and support the booming northern corridor.

  • Commercial Aviation: 2026 marks a transformative era with the opening of the new passenger terminal at McKinney National Airport. With Avelo Airlines as the inaugural carrier, Collin County now offers direct commercial connectivity, providing a convenient alternative for regional and national travel.

  • Sustainable Funding: Through voter-approved measures like Propositions 1 and 7, billions of dollars in oil, gas, and sales tax revenues are being funneled into non-tolled roadway projects, ensuring our state highway fund remains resilient against inflation and shifting fuel trends.

CCBA Leadership & Advocacy

The CCBA serves as a persistent, clear voice for the innovative funding and infrastructure needed to keep Collin County moving.

  • Strategic Policy Support: We actively monitor and provide educational resources on state and federal transportation bills, ensuring that the business community is informed and voices are heard in the prioritization of regional projects.

  • Civic Mobilization: Since hosting a Transportation Summit in 2014, we have consistently championed funding measures that protect our regional competitiveness. We focus on smart growth solutions that integrate land use with mobility to reduce travel times.

  • Collaboration for the Future: By partnering with the Regional Transportation Council and local leaders, the CCBA ensures that Collin County remains at the top of the list for state and federal infrastructure investment.
